Çiğdem Adar Özdemir graduated from Istanbul University Faculty of Law in 2012. In the same year, she began her master’s degree in Public Law at Istanbul University’s Institute of Social Sciences and successfully completed it with her dissertation titled “Body Examination and Sample Collection in the Context of the Nemo Tenetur Principle,” which was later published as a book. She then started her Ph.D. studies in Public Law at the same university and is currently working on her thesis on “The Impact of Mental Illness on Criminal Responsibility.”
Being admitted to Istanbul Bar Association, Adar Özdemir practiced lprimarily in Criminal Law for three years in prstigious law firms. She then served as a research assistant in Criminal Law and Criminal Procedure Law at Istanbul Okan University Faculty of Law for four years. Currently, she is a lecturer at Marmara University Vocational School of Justice, where she teaches Criminal Law courses.
