Dr. Mualla Buket Soygüt graduated from Ankara University Faculty of Law in 2002 and completed her master’s degree in Public Law at Galatasaray University with her thesis titled “Reconciliation in Turkish Criminal Law and Criminal Procedure Law.” During her doctoral studies, she focused on sanction theory and earned her Ph.D. from Galatasaray University in 2014 with a dissertation on “Confiscation in Turkish Criminal Law.”
In 2003, Dr. Soygüt began her academic career as a research assistant in the Criminal Law Department of Istanbul Commerce University Faculty of Law. Since 2017, she has been a faculty member at Istanbul Bilgi University Faculty of Law and chaired the department during the 2023-2024 academic year.
As one of our esteemed consultants, Dr. Soygüt specializes in Criminal Law, focusing on topics such as the Fundamentals of Criminal Law, Crime and Sanction Theory, Restorative Justice, Execution Law, Violence Against Women, Juvenile Criminal Justice, and Corporate Law. She has also delivered training on mediation at Istanbul Bilgi University and holds a mediation certificate.
Dr. Soygüt was awarded the Dönmezer Law Prize in 2008 for her book “Reconciliation.”
